Dealing with Loss and Misrepresentation
I just want to stay in the bed and mourn. It is raining, the roof is leaking, the puppy is now gone and I just found out that I did not get the job that I interviewed for last week. I really wanted that job, and it was another reminder how competitive it is out there. I had to take our puppy to the Human Society to be put down. He was spitting up blood, and had bloody diarrhea with worms. After doing some online research, I realized that he had worms when the kids brought him home. The guy at the Human Society informed me if we find another dog, to bring it in first to get checked out, but it does cost a lot. I think we would be better off just getting a dog from them anyway. Our puppy did have a bloated belly, but we thought that was due to his eating too much. We also noticed that he shivered a lot, and figured it was due to the cold, but now I think otherwise. I gave him some chopped garlic initially a couple of days ago. My daughter told me yesterday morning that there were worms in his stool the previous night and it also contained blood too. I cleaned up another mess later that morning, and it looked more like blood with worms in it. The house smells right now although we have cleaned up the messes with bleach and ammonia, I am going to have to disinfect all through the house. I just hope that none of us get sick, and I have decided that we will wait until the spring before we get another dog. The weird thing is that my monthly horoscope indicated for me to wait until after October 22nd before I get a pet, and now here is the outcome. Maybe we should have waited but I did like Winston, the name given to the puppy by my daughter and I know that we are going to miss him a lot.
Regarding the job, maybe it was just too perfect for me, and maybe God was letting me know that I needed to stop playing it safe and go out on a limb. I think I am going to rework my resume, do some more research and try something else. I did have another job interview regarding working in the financial field, and the name they gave me for this company was in acronyms, but turned out to be something else. I am not going to name the company, but they are a well known company. I have received invitations before to participate and buy their products, which I doubt are worthy of the paper they are printed on. I was polite through the entire seminar, but next time someone tries to pull that BS on me, I am going to turn into a conservative version of DMX and ask them do they want me to “Lose My Mind, Up In here? or Act A Fool Up In here?” Later looking the company up online, I found numerous accounts of other folks being duped and drawn in also by the same tactics. I hate when folks misrepresent themselves, and when I asked them where did they get my information, they were very evasive. I think that they got it off of either one the employment seeking web posting sites and the next time someone calls me, I am going to interrogate them first before I agree to meet or anything else. It was a waste of time, and next time when I realize what's up, I will walk out of there immediately.
